California, LLC. The Livermore office is located right off the 580 freeway and has projects in the Greater Bay Area and Central Valley. Goodfellow Bros. California, LLC. has been involved in many exciting and high profile projects including paving the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco's Monster Park, The Great Mall in Milpitas, Bay Meadows, The Levi's stadium in Santa Clara, and the new Apple Campus in Cupertino.
 

POSITION SUMMARY

Goodfellow Bros. California, LLC is seeking a motivated professional to successfully manage all aspects of construction projects within its public works customer base.  Specifically, the PM III will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, and budgeting as well as managing client and subcontractor relations, project forecasting, profitability targets and proper close out of multiple projects.  This important role will report to the Area Manager.

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee the activities of the entire project team (employees, subcontractors, vendors) to ensure compliance with company policies and safety and quality standards
  • Establish strong working relationships with customers, public agencies, general contractors, and outside parties
  • Analyze, approve and update various project and area schedules
  • Ensure and review consistent documentation of job activities
  • Assist in the supervision of operations and equipment, including the support of field staff in daily dispatch request for crews, materials and equipment
  • Responsible for performance evaluation of direct reports, including quarterly updates and proactive identification of training opportunities
  • Analyze, understand and communicate (internally) the company's contractual responsibilities
  • Approve and analyze daily and weekly cost reports. Oversee monthly progress billings and subcontractor payments
  • Responsible for managing the contractual change order process with customers and subcontractors, including initial pricing of extra work
  • Oversee and approve monthly project cost and revenue forecasting
  • Review and approve purchase order commitments for projects
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and various union operations
  • Enforce the Company's safety policies and procedures with the goal of achieving zero incidents, perform random jobsite safety inspections,
  • Timely completion and submission of incident reports to Safety department
  • Capable of leading weekly safety toolbox meetings with field employees, attend monthly safety meetings
  
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or business-related field preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years construction project management experience, including at least 7 years of public works project management, Bay Area preferred
  • Strong knowledge of construction grading and paving practices, including contractual documents, plans, specifications and soils reports
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated decision making abilities in a high production environment, including strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Proven track record of successful contract negotiations
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Primavera; knowledge of Vista Project Management and HCSS software a plus
  • Must have valid driver's license with clean driver's abstract
  • Prefer certification in CPR, AED, First Aid, OSHA 30
